I had to punish one of my dear, sweet puppies for mis-behaving...

I knew it the moment I stepped into the house. That acrid smell tainted my beautiful home. I can only guess which it was. I know they tried to cover it up, but that stench seeps into everything it touches.

If they left the house in their escapades...

I'm afraid I must punish my naughty puppies. All of them if I no one confesses. Such is life as a part time care-taker. I can't keep my eye on them at all times like I need to. If this continues, I don't know what can be done about their mis-behaving.
